Opposition returns vote count protocols to constituency No. 132 in Pervomaisk
The leader of the Batkivschyna United Opposition in Mykolaiv region, Vadym Merikov, and MP Hennadiy Moskal have returned vote count protocols to constituency No. 132 (Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region), which were earlier removed by Berkut riot police officers.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the situation around the building of the district election commission had stabilized and that citizens had unblocked the road. The regional department of police said that 70 police officers were maintaining public order.
According to witnesses, the documents have not been spoiled. However, a leader of the Batkivschyna United Opposition, Anatoliy Hrytsenko, said that the opposition wanted to hold a public recount of the copies of vote count protocols.
According to the Central Election Commission, with all votes counted in the constituency, opposition candidate Arkadiy Kornatsky garnered 39.66% of the vote, while his opponent, Party of Regions member Vitaliy Travianko, took 34.09%.
However, the CEC later released new figures showing that Travianko had beaten Kornatsky in the elections. Kornatsky has the same percentage of votes, while Travianko collected 39.97% of the vote.
