Naftogaz sees 10.6% rise in gas purchase in Jan-Nov
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy bought 20.9 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas in January-November 2017, which is 10.6% or 2 bcm more than a year ago.
The company said in a press release that in particular, the company's imports from the European market over the period grew by 17.1% or 1.2 bcm, to 8.2 bcm, and purchase of gas from Ukrgazvydobuvannia rose by 6.7%, to 12.7 bcm.
In November, Naftogaz bought 1.9 bcm of gas, including 1.2 bcm from Ukrgazvydobuvannia and 0.7 bcm of imported gas.
Almost all this gas was received from Slovakia (8.1 bcm), while supplies from Hungary amounted to only 0.1 bcm.
Ukraine has not imported gas from Russia this year, as well as in 2016, with all imported supplies coming from the European direction.
Naftogaz said that in general, gas imports to Ukraine in January-November 2017 grew 1.4-fold year-over-year, from 9.4 bcm to 13.1 bcm, including from Slovakia from 7.8 bcm to 9.2 bcm and from Hungary from 0.8 bcm to 2.7 bcm and from Poland from 0.8 bcm to 1.2 bcm.
