Ukrzaliznytsia sees some UAH 140 mln of net profit in Jan-Aug
Public joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia tentatively saw UAH 140.3 million of net profit in January-August 2017, the press service of the company has reported, not presenting comparative figures.
In January-August 2017, the wagon fleet expanded by 10.2%, to over 130,700 cars. Gross operational freight turnover grew by 5.1%, to 197.47 billion tonne-kilometers and passenger traffic grew by 4.2%, to 19.153 billion passenger-kilometers. A total of 108.5 million passengers used services of Ukrainian railways. Loading of wagons grew by 9.5%, to 11,600 wagons a day.
In January-August 2017, Ukrzaliznytsia used capital investment of UAH 4.952 billion (91.8% up year-over-year).
Revenue from transportation rose by UAH 4 billion year-over-year. Revenue from freight transportation is expected at almost UAH 9 billion and a loss of UAH 6.7 billion will be seen from transportation of passengers.
