NBU relaxes purchase of eurobonds issued under loan agreements by banks

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) permitted authorized banks with general licenses permitting currency transactions for raising and placing foreign currency on international markets to buy eurobonds issued by foreign entities to finance loans issued to the banks.

The decision is outlined in NBU resolution No. 77 dated August 8, 2017 amending the rules of issuing personal licenses for investment abroad that took effect on August 10, 2017.

The NBU said that the decision would help to improve the conditions for cash flow management at banks and their foreign debts and would not affect the currency market.
