Ukraine sees 20% rise in gas transit in Jan-March
Ukraine in January-March 2017 increased transit of natural gas through its gas transportation system by 19.8% (3.826 billion cubic meters, bcm) compared to January-March 2016, to 23.188 billion cubic meters, according to live data from PJSC Ukrtransgaz.
Gas transit through Ukraine to Europe last month amounted to 22.173 bcm and to Moldova – 1.015 bcm.
Transit in March 2017 fell by 1.8% or 123.3 million cubic meters (mcm) year-over-year, to 6.648 bcm. Gas transit through Ukraine to Europe last month was 6.379 bcm and to Moldova – 268.8 mcm.
As reported, Ukraine in 2016 increased transit of natural gas through its gas transportation system by 22.5% (15.121 bcm) compared with 2015, to 82.2 bcm.
Total volume of Russian gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system in 2016 was the highest in the last three years.
Ukrtransgaz, 100% owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of trunk gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities in the country.
