Naftogaz head assesses Ukrainian gas transport system at $30 bln
Board Chairman of national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy Andriy Kobolev has assessed the Ukrainian gas transport system at $30 billion.
"We assess it [the gas transport system] at the figure close to $30 billion," he said on 24 Channel late on Tuesday.
Kobolev recalled that Trunk Gas Pipelines of Ukraine created during restructuring of Naftogaz is to start operating in Q3 2017 when the final decision of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in lawsuit between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Russia's Gazprom takes effect.
He also said that if Naftogaz loses to Gazprom in the gas sale and purchase contract dispute, $38 billion the Russian company would demand under the take or pay condition would be unsustainable for Naftogaz. Kobolev said that Ukraine is not a guarantor in the commercial dispute between Naftogaz and Gazprom.
He said that he is optimistic about the outcome of the dispute.
