Naftogaz to extend agreement with Wikborg, Rein & Co on support for arbitration proceedings with Gazprom
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy intends to extend a contract for legal services with Wikborg, Rein & Co. Advokatfirma DA (Norway), which provides support for arbitral proceedings on the company's suit against Russia's Gazprom.
The press service of the holding reported that the expected purchase price is EUR4 million. The term of providing services is until December 31, 2016.
The Norwegian company supported arbitral proceedings in 2014-2015 and early 2016 under a Naftogaz's claim against Gazprom and presented the Ukrainian holding in relations with the Russian company in settling disputes by the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, other courts and agencies of foreign states, foreign and international arbitration institutions.
Naftogaz brings together the largest oil and gas producing enterprises in the country. It is a monopoly on natural gas transit and storage in underground gas storage facilities, as well as oil transportation via pipelines in the territory of Ukraine.
