Naftogaz in Sept to present company's position on shareholder agreement with Ukrnafta to London court
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy in September 2016 will file a counterclaim in litigation opened under a claim of minority shareholders in public joint-stock company Ukrnafta over the lawfulness and implementation of the shareholder agreement to the London Court of International Arbitration, Naftogaz Head Andriy Kobolev has said.
"We have received a delay for filing the counterclaim by Naftogaz until September 2016, and it is being drawn up… We are preparing the document for September," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
"This is a preventive measure by minority shareholders to remind us about the lawfulness of the shareholder agreement," he added.
Minority shareholders in Ukrnafta appealed to the London Court of International Arbitration in summer 2015 accusing the holding in violating the shareholder agreement.
