DTEK sees 22.7% fall in coal output in 2015, power supply 20.1% down
Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK energy holding saw a 20.1% fall in power supply in 2015, to 37.65 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), including 630 million kWh of power generated by wind farms, the company has reported on the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
In 2015, DTEK's distribution companies transmitted 45.1 billion kWh of electricity via networks (not taking into account Krymenergo), which is by 16.2% less than year-over-year. The company decreased electricity exports by 55% up to 3.6 billion kWh.
Taking into consideration exports of electricity by Ukraine in 2015 (3.642 billion kWh), the DTEK's share of total exports was 97.6%.
The holding said that in 2015, DTEK miners produced 28.692 million tonnes of coal, which is by 22.7% less year-over-year. In 2015, the company supplied 1.387 million tonnes of coal to external markets, which is by 65.8% lower than in 2014.
DTEK supplies 3.2 million tonnes of coal from the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) zone, including 2 million tonnes in H2 2015.
Coal imports fell by 76%, to 404,100 tonnes.
In Q4 2015, the company did not import coal and exported small volumes of coal.
Processing plants reduced their production volumes: they processed about 19.966 million tonnes of ROM coal (24.4% down year-over-year) and produced 12.279 million tonnes of concentrate (28.2% down).
Gas production 1.305 billion cubic meters, which is 55.1% up on 2014 (753 million cubic meters) and gas condensate production was 45,300 tonnes (a rise of 56.2% year-over-year).
According to the report, DTEK invested over UAH 1.2 billion in renewal of the driving equipment fleet and upgrading of the transportation chain. The cost of the overhauls for DTEK thermal power plants amounted to UAH 1.5 billion. The overhauls campaign of 2015 was completed with the main power equipment of 55 generating units and 10 sets (three turbines and seven boilers) repaired.
