Coal stocks at Ukrainian TPPs 0.9% up in a week – Ukrenergo

Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) in Ukraine in the period from February 15 to February 22 rose by 0.9%, or by 20,700 tonnes, from 2.258 million tonnes to 2.278 million tonnes, national energy company Ukrenergo reported on its website.

In particular, the stocks of anthracite coal amounted to 885,700 tonnes (of which 170,800 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), those of gas coal and long-flame coal reached 1.393 million tonnes (of which 269,100 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).

Coal stocks as of February 22, 2016 exceed stocks as of February 15, 2015 by 64.8% or 1.382 million tonnes.

Ukrenergo said that energy consumption in the morning of February 22 was 20.660 GW, while 35 coal power units and two fuel oil power units at the TPPs generated 7.197 GW, the nuclear power plants (NPPs) had a capacity of 10.088 GW, hydroelectric power plants 1.027 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.152 GW, and alternative energy units 196 MW.

No energy supply was between mainland Ukraine and Crimea.
