Coal stocks at Ukraine's TPPs 1.7% up over week - Ukrenergo
Coal stocks in the warehouses of thermal power plants (TPP) in Ukraine in the period from December 28 to January 4 had increased by 1.7%, or by 38,000 tonnes, from 2.232 million tonnes to 2.270 million tonnes, Ukrenergo reported on its website.
In particular, the stocks of anthracite coal amounted to 895,800 tonnes (of which 164,600 tonnes at Luhansk TPP), G and D grade coal to 1.374 million tonnes (of which 293,600 tonnes at Burshtyn TPP).
The stocks as of January 4, 2016 exceeded the stocks in the warehouses of TPPs as of January 4, 2015 by 1.6 times (by 882,300 tonnes).
Ukrenergo said that in the morning of January 4 a total of 41 coal power units and two fuel oil power units at the thermal power plants of generating companies with a capacity of 7.613 GW were operating. The nuclear power plants (NPPs) had a capacity of 11.394 GW, hydroelectric power plants 2.212 GW, combined heat and power plants 2.411 GW, and alternative energy units 72 MW.
