Ukrenergo sees 6% fall in power transmission via trunk power grids in Jan-Sept

National energy company Ukrenergo in January-September 2015 cut electricity transmission through the country's backbone and interstate power grids by 6%, or by 5.745 billion kWh, to 89.576 billion kWh, the company's press service has reported.

Over the period under review, the cost of the company's electricity transmission services grew by 48%, or by UAH 1.126 billion, to UAH 3.47 billion.

According to the report, in the first nine months of 2015 the company increased capital investment by 78.8% (by UAH 1.129 billion), to UAH 2.562 billion, but its general expenses fell by 6.2% (by UAH 108.423 million), to UAH 1.653 billion (in particular repair costs fell by 20.2%, to UAH 102.569 million).

Ukrenergo operates Ukraine's backbone and interstate power grid and supervises the country's national grid. It is a state-owned company and is controlled by the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
