NCCR approves draft agreement on creation of intl roaming service market between Ukraine, Poland
The National Commission for Communications Regulation (NCCR) has approved a draft agreement foreseeing the creation of an international roaming service market between Ukraine and Poland, the commission said on its official website.
The document is aiming at the realization of agreements reached at a meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in August 2015 and after a working visit of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk to Poland in September 2015.
"The agreement is aimed at creating the international roaming service market between Ukraine and Poland on the basis of as close as possible approaching of the tariffs for roaming services to the national services," reads the report.
The regulator said that the agreement introduces a single approach to the regulation of the cost of roaming services and sets requirements intended to increase the transparency of prices and improve the servicing of subscribers in part of the provision of information on the tariffs for roaming service users.
"In particular, some measures to prevent receiving unjustifiably large bills due to accidental roaming by users," the commission said.
The draft agreement will be sent to the administration of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine and other interested ministries and agencies for agreement.
