First pillar of 750 kV Zaporizhia NNP-Kakhovska substation power line installed - Ukrenergo
On Tuesday the first intermediate pillar of the 750 kV Zaporizhia NNP-Kakhovska substation power line was installed, the press service of Ukrenergo has reported.
The press service said that the realization of the project would increase the power transmission capacity of Zaporizhia NPP to the Ukrainian power grid by 700 MW and ensure the reliable power supply in the south of Ukraine. The line will be commissioned in 2016.
"This is a milestone event, as the line is a strategically important facility," reads the report.
Ukrenergo operates Ukraine's backbone and interstate power grid and supervises the country's national grid. It is a state-owned company and is controlled by the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Ministry.
