Ukrzaliznytsia carrying no goods or passengers to Crimea since late 2014

State Railways Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) has not transported cargo and passengers to Crimea since December 26, 2014, its press service has reported.

"Convention TsZM 14/2249 dated December 26, 2014 on the termination of freight traffic between Crimea and mainland Ukraine and Convention TsZM 14/113 of August 17, 2015 on limiting cargo transportation to the checkpoint of Vadim have been posted on the official website of Ukrzaliznytsia," reads the report.

"Ukrzaliznytsia notes that its activities are guided by the current legislation of Ukraine and meet all regulations and government decisions. One of these orders is to terminate rail links with Crimea," the report said.

Ukrzaliznytsia also said that since the end of December last year, passenger trains going in the direction of Crimea have run to Novooleksiyivka and Kherson, and freight trains – to checkpoints leading to the peninsula which are located on the mainland of Ukraine.
