Ukrenergo, Poland's PSE agree on electricity supply from three Burshtyn TPP units to Ukrainian power grids
Ukrenergo and PSE Operator S.A. on August 20 signed an addition to the treaty on the parallel operation of the Polish regulation unit (including the Burshtyn thermal power plant island, TPP) dated 2011, which provides for the supply of electricity from power units Nos. 10, 11, 12 of Burshtyn TPP (PJSC DTEK Zakhidenergo) to the unified energy system of Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry has reported.
According to the press service, Ukrenergo and PSE also discussed the aspects of emergency assistance provided by Ukraine to the Polish power system and improving the agreement on emergency assistance.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers gave orders that by October 15, 2015 steps must be taken to fix the three units of Burshtyn TPP (DTEK Zakhidenergo) for their operation as part of the united energy system of Ukraine.
Zakhidenergo in July 2014 launched units Nos. 8 and 9 of Burshtyn TPP of the united energy system of Ukraine. Without changing the Burshtyn island network configuration, only two of its 12 power units can deliver power to the unified energy system of Ukraine.
