Candidate for Ukrzaliznytsia head, Corum Group CEO, denies intention to lobby for SCM
Candidate for the post of head of State Railways Administration of Ukraine Ukrzaliznytsia, Yevhen Romaschin, has denied that he would lobby in the interest of SCM Group if successful.
"This is my personal initiative - to participate in the tender. I am not a delegate from SCM or any other group of people who stand up for me. This is my personal decision," he said at a press conference.
Romaschin is currently the CEO of Corum Group, which is part of SCM Group and which is engaged in manufacturing mining machinery.
According to Romaschin, he received an offer to participate in the tender for the post of Ukrzaliznytsia head in early January and passed an interview with the Minister of Infrastructure, his deputies and experts. At the same time, Romaschin said that he had informed SCM management about his participation in the tender a few days ago; after he became aware he was included in the short-list of candidates.
