Canada can help Ukraine train military personnel
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has stressed the importance of Canada's help in training Ukrainian officers in Canadian military academies.
"Today, we need help in training young Ukrainian officers in Canada's academies, as then [they] will become a part of overhead personnel of Ukrainian Armed Forces. Help in training officers of junior command personnel on the basis of Canadian Armed Forces' special units would be interesting and important as well," Klitschko said, during a meeting with Canadian Defense Minister Rob Nicholson at the Munich conference, according to the mayor’s press service
He also thanked Canada for its help and support of Ukraine.
In turn Nicholson said that Canada's position remained the same – Ukraine should be a united and independent state. He also assured Klitschko that Canada is ready to support Ukraine for as long as is needed. In particular, he promised to help train Ukrainian soldiers in Canadian military academies.
