Ukraine boosts gas stocks at underground storage facilities by 115 mln cubic meters in first week of July

Ukraine in the first week of July continued boosting gas stocks in its underground storage facilities, increasing them by 115 million cubic meters.

According to tentative data of public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, while as of July 1 there were 14.371 billion cubic meters of natural gas at underground storage facilities, as of July 8, 2014 stocks had grown by 0.8%, to 14.486 billion cubic meters.

As reported, Ukraine even after the stoppage of natural gas supplies by Russia continued boosting gas stocks at its underground storage facilities, boosting them by 334.6 million cubic meters.

Gazprom at 0900 Kyiv time on June 16 cut off gas supplies to Ukraine, while continuing to transit it through the Ukrainian gas transportation system to Europe.

As of April 1, 2014, gas stocks at Ukrtransgaz's underground storage facilities totaled 7.202 billion cubic meters.

Stocks of commodity gas at Ukrainian underground storage facilities as of December 31, 2013 stood at 14.765 billion cubic meters, including 13.952 billion cubic meters in Ukrtransgaz's underground storage facilities and 813 million cubic meters in Chornomornaftogaz's underground storage facilities.

Ukraine in 2013 pumped 11.635 billion cubic meters of gas to its underground storage facilities.

Ukraine has 13 underground gas storage facilities with a total capacity of around 32 billion cubic meters. Ukrtransgaz operates 12 storage facilities (31 billion cubic meters) and Chornomornaftogaz the other one (1 billion cubic meters).

After the annexation of Crimea by Russia, Naftogaz Ukrainy since March 14, 2014 has not been receiving daily operational information about the production, transportation and use of natural gas, oil and condensate from Chornomornaftogaz.
