Naftogaz on Thursday to restrict gas supplies to two combined heat power plants in Kyiv and two in Kharkiv, says source

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy on July 10 will restrict gas supplies of combined heat power plants 5 and 6 of public joint-stock company Kyivenergo and public joint-stock company Kharkiv combined heat power plant 5 and Kharkivski Teplovi Merezhi (combined heat power plant 3).

A source in the holding told Interfax-Ukraine that the actions of the state holding are based on an order of Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Prodan of July 9, 2013 on restricting gas supplies due to the necessity to save gas.

Gas supplies for Kyiv's combined heat power plant 5 will be reduced to 480,000 cubic meters of gas a day, for combined heat power plant 6 – to 48,000 cubic meters a day. Gas will be not supplied at all to the two plants in Kharkiv.

As reported, earlier Naftogaz Ukrainy Head Andrir Kobolev assessed saving of gas which could be reached via stopping supplies of hot tap water in large cities of Ukraine at 50 million cubic meters a month.
