Kyiv wants Gazprom to calculate 2013 gas debt at $268.5 per 1,000 cu m

Talks between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom are continuing in Berlin on Wednesday, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.

"The talks are continuing today. They are being conducted in a bilateral format, since the Russian side decided against a trilateral format," Prodan said.

The talks are scheduled to continue until June 9.

Ukraine proposes settling the gas issue in a package deal, Prodan said.

"Ukraine has clearly stated at the talks the need for a package settlement: a gas price of $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters. After that the issue of paying debt will be resolved, which should also be at a price of $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters," he said.

Russia has not voiced its proposal for the price of gas, he said.
