Naftogaz ready to pay $4 bln for gas to Gazprom at $268.5 per 1,000 cubic meters before end of pretrial procedures

National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy is ready to pay $4 billion for gas to Russia's Gazprom at the price of 268.50 per 1,000 cubic meters before the end of pretrial procedures, Deputy Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Didenko said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

He said that the holding was ready to pay the said sum by the end of May 2014.

Didenko said that Ukraine insists on a price of $268.50 per 1,000 cubic meters due to the fact that this is the latest price fixed in the supplement to the contract signed by Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom.

The holding proposes using the price until the end of the pretrial procedures, he said.
