Naftogaz initiates introduction of single wholesale price for gas
National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has proposed that the government introduce a single wholesale price of gas, Naftogaz Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
"Now we have several different prices – for various consumers. We propose returning to the principle of the single wholesale gas price. We can also use the mechanism of aid to those categories of consumers who really need this aid," he said.
As reported, the price of natural gas for industrial consumers and companies financed from the national and local budgets totals UAH 4,724 per 1,000 cubic meters (value added tax (VAT), surcharges, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply are not included).
Heat supply companies pay UAH 1,309.20 per 1,000 cubic meters with VAT, surcharges, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply and households pay UAH 1,089-4,011 per 1,000 cubic meters (VAT included).
