NCER from April 1 to increase prices of gas for industrial consumers by 29.1%, for budget organizations by 64.2%
The upper price of natural gas for industrial consumers will grow by 29.1% from April 1, 2014, from UAH 3,113 per 1,000 cubic meters to UAH 4,020 per 1,000 cubic meters, and by 64.2% for companies financed from the national budget and local budgets, from UAH 2,448 per 1,000 cubic meters to UAH 4,020 per 1,000 cubic meters ( value added tax (VAT), surcharges, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply are not included).
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that the decision was made at a meeting of the National Commission for Energy Regulation of Ukraine ( NCER) on Monday, March 31.
The decision to revise the upper price is linked to the expected increase in the price of Russian gas from the second quarter of 2014, which is projected at $390.81 per 1,000 cubic meters.
As reported, the NCER from January 1, 2014 cut the ceiling for the price of natural gas for industrial consumers by 10%, to UAH 3,113 per 1,000 cubic meters and by 29.2% for companies financed from the national and local budgets, to UAH 2,448 per 1,000 cubic meters (value added tax (VAT), surcharges, tariffs for transportation, distribution and supply are not included).
The National Commission for Energy Regulation regulates the activity of monopoly entities in the energy sector and oil and gas industries, and implements state price and tariff setting policies in these spheres.
