Flow of Ukrainian tourists to Turkey grows by almost 20% in 2013
The flow of Ukrainian tourists to Turkey in 2013 grew by 19.2% compared to 2012, to 756,187 tourists, the office for culture and information at the Turkish Embassy to Ukraine has told Interfax-Ukraine.
The office said that Ukraine is in the top ten countries which citizens visited Turkey last year.
The share of Ukrainian tourists is 2.17% of the total tourist flow to Turkey.
The leaders were Germany (5.041 million tourists, 14.44% of total tourist flow), Russia (4.269 million tourists, 12.23%) and Britain (2.5 million tourists, 7.19%).
The top ten also includes Georgia (1.769 million tourists, 5.07%), Bulgaria (1.583 million tourists, 4.53%), the Netherlands (1.315 million tourists, 3.76%), Iran (1.197 million tourists, 3.43%), France (1.046 million tourists, 3%) and the United States (785,971 tourists, 2.25%).
A total of 34.91 million tourists visited Turkey in 2013, which is 9.84% up from a year ago. The most popular resorts were Antalya (31.86%), Istanbul (30.04%) and Mugla (8.77%).
