Ukraine's debt for Russian gas rises to $1.89 bln as Naftogaz misses Feb payment

Ukraine's debt for Russian gas has risen to $1.89 billion after Naftogaz, the Ukrainian national oil and gas company, missed its February payment.

"Today, March 7, was the deadline for paying for the February gas supplies. Gazprom did not receive payment on its account. Given the discount applicable in the first quarter, past due debt has increased significantly to $1.89 billion," Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller told reporters.
