Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily takes Intercity+ trains out of service

The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) has from February 12, 2014 temporarily been using locomotive-hauled passenger trains on the routes where Intercity+ trains run, the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia has reported.

The press service said that this is linked to the technical inspection of Hyundai Rotem trains with the participation of Korean specialists.

"Due to the temporarily replacement of this tier of the rolling stock, passengers who bought tickets for Intercity+ trains will receive the difference in the cost of the tickets if passengers use the ticket. If passengers refuse to use the ticket, the funds will be returned in full. Passengers are to contact the ticket offices at railway stations [for refunds]," Ukrzaliznytsia said.

As reported, ten Intercity+ trains made by Hyundai Rotem run in Ukraine: from Kyiv to Lviv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv.
