Ukraine plans to issue $2 bln in eurobonds for Russia by end Jan – Finance Ministry

Ukraine plans to issue $2 billion in eurobonds in the framework of cooperation with Russia by the end of January.

These will be two-year bonds at 5% per annum, Ukrainian First Deputy Finance Minister Anatoliy Miarkovsky told reporters.

Russia said in December that it planned to provide Ukraine with $15 billion in finance in 2013-2014 by buying Ukrainian eurobonds. Analysts say this will effectively turn Russia into Ukraine's biggest creditor.

Russia bought a first tranche of Ukrainian bonds worth $3 billion on December 23.
