Yanukovych signs instruction to improve investment climate after Investors Council's meeting

As a result of a regular meeting of the Council of Domestic and Foreign Investors, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed an instruction aimed at improving the investment climate in the country, which was prepared jointly with the Cabinet of Ministers and the coordination center for the implementation of economic reforms, taking into account the additional proposals of the council members, the president's press service has reported.

According to an advisor to the president - Head of the Main Department of International Relations, Executive Secretary of the Council, Andriy Honcharuk - this document is intended to further develop the state mechanisms to improve the investment climate in Ukraine and to attract more foreign investment into the Ukrainian economy.

The instruction will be implemented by responsible officers in cooperation with experts of the relevant working groups of the council. The office of the council will oversee this process, the executive secretary said.

"The successful implementation of this instruction will speed up the economic reforms in the banking and energy sectors, and help solve the urgent issues that hinder the effective development of Ukraine's economy, in particular in the area of land and property relations," Honcharuk said.

The meeting of the council was held on November 5, 2013. It was attended by 22 members of the council, including the president of Ukraine, the executive secretary, five domestic and fifteen foreign investors, as well as eight representatives of the members of the council.
