Naftogaz settlements with Gazprom for January gas delayed due to technical discrepancies, says Naftogaz

Ukraine's national oil and gas company Naftogaz Ukrainy has not fully settled up with OJSC Gazprom for gas supplied in January due to certain technical discrepancies, but there is no threat of financial sanctions, Naftogaz Deputy Chief Vadym Chuprun said.

"There can be no sanctions because this is a mutual technical issue. We are clarifying it with Gazprom and those that deliver gas," Chuprun told the press in Kyiv on Tuesday.

The issue is one of paying for gas consumed by chemicals companies, he said.

A large part of the money for the gas has already been transferred, he said, allowing that before the end of today gas imported in January could be completely paid for.
