Ukraine pays $39 m on 2016 eurobonds

The Finance Ministry of Ukraine has paid a coupon worth $39.063 million on five-year bonds that will mature in 2016, reads a report of the ministry issued on Monday.

The ministry said that the bonds, worth $1.25 billion, were placed at 6.25% per annum.

The bonds are to be paid back on June 17, 2016 and interest is paid once every six months – on June 17 and December 17.

According to the State Treasury Service, UAH 25.5 billion is earmarked for servicing state debt in 2012, UAH 23.32 billion of which was paid as of December 17, including UAH 6.92 billion for foreign debt.

A total of UAH 66.5 billion has been set aside for paying state debt, of which UAH 64.13 billion has been paid, including UAH 34.91 billion on foreign debt.

The state borrowing plan for 2012 comes to UAH 98.4 billion, which has already been exceeded at UAH 102.6 billion as of December 17, including UAH 38.77 billion in foreign borrowing.

The government expects total payments on state debt in 2013 to increase to UAH 116.1 billion, UAH 47.6 billion of which is for foreign debt.
