Naftogaz requires UAH 4.6 b from NCER at court, says source
National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz Ukrainy is trying through the court to recover UAH 4.6 billion from the National Commission for Energy Regulation (NCER), a source at the government has told Interfax-Ukraine.
"Naftogaz has filed a lawsuit against the NCER as the State Tax Service imposed significant fines on Naftogaz, and, according to the company, the culprit is the NCER. The matter is that the NCER approves only retail gas prices for Naftogaz but not wholesale ones. However, the tax service has claims regarding wholesale gas prices. Naftogaz is trying to draw the commission's attention to this problem," the source said.
Interfax-Ukraine failed to get comments from the NCER on the issue.
Naftogaz Ukrainy unites Ukraine's largest oil and gas production enterprises. The company holds a monopoly on the transit and underground storage of natural gas, as well as the transport of oil via pipelines in Ukraine.
